I'm currently serving in the Army, but asked about joining the police as a volunteer. Unfortunatly they don't take serving military personel. I aslo don't currently wear any real 'Uniform' when I go out.

Beerio,
What was your job in the army? and do you mean Air Force Reserve? Or Air National Guard? (I am guessing the 2nd one?) Captain Champion, I was like that for a while too, not patrolling in any costume or uniform or anything, just in regular clothes. Figured I didn't really have much to hide. Sometimes I still do patrol even as my secret identity in regular clothes, but these are more low profile/undercover patrols. As for being a police officer in the military, it's allowed. There's several Marines in my reserve unit serving as Cops too. It might be different with active duty. But I believe there are also reservists for being Police Officers? I've heard of that a long time ago, IDK how it works though... Fear NOTHING, 'cause Tothian's got your back!!! -Tothian |

Lot's of questions there lately T.
I was a 31F in the Army. And yes Air Force Guard and ANG are the same thing. People don't understand when you say ANG that that is the air force guard. So I just say Air Force Guard. I forget what they called what I did in the AFG. Some weird long acronym. It was basically the same kind of work as in the Army. Telecommunications/networking/computer tech. Hmm I think I have the info on my resume somewhere. Here it is: Graduate, Airforce Electronic Computer and Switching Systems and Electronics Principles Keesler Air Force Base Biloxi, MS Completed coursework in: Maintaining, servicing, calibrating, troubleshooting, upgrading and operating desktop and mainframe computers, peripherals, processors, I/O, power supplies, power bays, telephone switching, multiplexing, digital, solid state, and other communication systems. Also covered use of schematic diagrams, maintenance publications, test multimeter, oscilloscope, logic probe, logic pulser, signal analyzer, and built-in test equipment to identify and isolate lowest replaceable unit, process, retrieve, and track related logistical items through automated maintenance systems. Blah blah blah. The older I get the less I care about such nonsense. The military is fine for the young but to become a better man in life you have to get out and be your own man. IE: Don't reinlist no matter what line of BS they hand you. |

I'm a regular serving officer and rules here in the UK prevent me from joining as a volunteer police officer. Joining the TA (our reserves) would normally not be allowed if you are a member of the emergency services but this rule is not always enforced.

Hey Beerio
(Tothian should never be shortened to anything, nor initialed "T" - should be nothing more NOR less than "Tothian") I will most likely not re-enlist. Was considering it for a long time but eventually decided not to. I have a lot of reasons why I won't, but I won't get in to that. Fear NOTHING, 'cause Tothian's got your back!!! -Tothian (PS, while in, I never wanted any easy job or anything other than Infantry) |
